Proper habits to both children and elders
Children build up most of the habits from the people surrounding them, the society they live in and from parents in major. When a father reads books the children would also get that habit naturally because the child gets use to see his/her father doing it. Similarly the child inherits most of the habits from the parents both through genes and also by observations. In both these ways parents are responsible for spoiling their children if they have any bad habits because the child also would develop the same habit. Most of the teenagers across the world develop the habit of smoking either from friends or from their own fathers. The adolescents think they can quit this habit after getting bored of it. What happens is just the opposite. They feel hard to quit this habit and continue to use cigarettes in large number. Ultimately children develop lung cancer easily and their lives would be spoiled completely. Worldwide 3% of the children die out of lung cancer and the percentage is quite high. Awareness should be created to save young children as well as adults.
Prevention of Lung Cancer
As the proverb rightly says ‘prevention is better than cure’ it becomes true in the case of lung cancer too. It is always better to be cautious than to be victims. This proverb suits lung cancer in two ways. In one way, lung cancer patients suffer a lot losing their life and regret back for not being cautious before. This is because the disease once developed is hard to diagnose and treat. It becomes painful and hurts severely. Thus it is better to prevent lung cancer than to get affected by it. Prevention methods are so simple that the person has to screen himself from the exposure to tobacco smoke, where as the treatment methods are difficult to bear. The other way, penny used for prevention is less as compared with penny needed for cure. When a person on whom a whole family is dependent is affected by lung cancer then the whole family suffers for the mistake made by him. Thus one should think about his/her future and family before taking any risk.
Awareness of Lung Cancer
The most dreadful disease worldwide is cancer. To create awareness among the people the world cancer day is marked on February 4 every year. This is also to draw government’s attention to take action on its preventive measures and also to bring the treatment methods and facilities in any particular country to care cancer suffering patients. On this day many programme would be conducted across the world to educate people about the causes and consequences of cancer. For the past few years the most frequent complaint about cancer is cancer occurring in lungs. The world lung cancer day is marked on November 17 and this has been started in the year 2007. Every year this day would be marked during November month. This aims at educating people about the importance of quitting the habit of smoking, ill-effects of smoking, effects of lung cancer etc. Lung cancer issues, victim’s speech as examples are included in the campaign conducted on this day. All these are done in order to protect the valuable human life from the sufferings of lung cancer and to save many by providing a clean environment.
Stages of Lung Cancer
Cigarette which is going to end up as ash after few minutes of burning is not valuable. The humans who are also going to end up as ashes are considered worthy. Few smokers, who have good knowledge about the consequences of smoking and the harmful effects of lung cancer, throw the caution to the wind and smoke ruthlessly. This is because of the attitude they have that only chain smokers has chances to get cancer. Actually, lung cancer grows in four stages. At the first stage, the cancer cells are found only in one lung. At the second stage, tumors affect the lymph nodes around the lung. At the first half of the third stage, cancer spreads to lymph node in the trachea region, chest wall near the infected lung. At the second half of the third stage, cancer spreads to other parts in the other lung. The cancer successfully extends to other parts of the body through the blood called as metastasis in the final stage. In general, limited or extensive can be the measure of cancer. If only one lung fails the rigorousness is limited while if both the lungs fail then cancer rigorousness is extensive.
Types of Lung Cancer
The scientific name of lung cancer is bronchogenic carcinomas, the two types of which is small cell lung cancer (SCLC) and non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Cigarette smoking mainly leads to SCLC and this type of lung cancer extends to other parts of the body rapidly. The scientific name of SCLC is oat cell carcinomas. Comparatively SCLC is more hazardous than NSCLC. It builds up in the host very fast and extensive. Among the two, the most common one is NSCLC. Most of the complaints of lung cancers are of this type. NSCLC is categorized as adenocarcinomas, squamous cell carcinomas, large cell carcinomas. The most frequent among the lung cancer complaints is the adenocarcinomas whose main cause is cigarring. The squamous cell carcinomas are less frequent when compared to adenocarcinomas and its area of attack is chest. Large cell carcinomas are very less common lung cancer type of NSCLC. In general, primary and secondary lung cancer is its classification. It is said to be primary if the cancer originates in the lungs and it is said to be secondary if the cancer originates in some other parts of the body and extends to lungs. Depending on these two types the diagnosis and treatment methods for cancer also differs.
